The course
The Art of Strain Reviews
A strain name is only the starting point.
Genetics can be disputed. The same cultivar can vary between breeders, phenotypes, growers and batches. Online descriptions are often copied until uncertain claims begin to look like established facts.
This course teaches a repeatable process for examining a sample, researching its background, recording what is actually present and separating direct observation from source claims and personal interpretation.
What you will learn
What you will learn
- Research strain names, aliases, breeders and lineage claims.
- Record appearance, structure, condition and aroma consistently.
- Describe flavour and reported experience using precise, accessible language.
- Interpret THC, CBD and terpene information without treating one result as universal.
- Recognise disputed information, weak sources and gaps in the available evidence.
- Turn structured notes into a balanced and genuinely useful strain review.
The source material
Built from real review work
The course draws on years of original cannabis photography, cultivar research and archived review writing.
It is designed for reviewers, writers, photographers, patients and enthusiasts who want a more consistent and honest way to document cannabis strains. No formal experience is required.
The approach
Research-led, not certainty-led
Good cultivar research does not force every question into a definite answer.
When sources conflict, a lineage is disputed or a laboratory result applies only to one particular batch, the honest response is to show that limitation. The course teaches you how to communicate uncertainty without making the review vague or unhelpful.
