I have tried a couple of Mean Beanz' creations before - my favourite so far has been the Alien Cookies Predator Cut - so I was happy when I got my hands on a sample of Chocolate Orange, which crosses Jaffa Caked Cookies with Choc Mint OG.
Jaffa Caked Cookies is Tangie X Phantom Cookies. Choc Mint OG is Emerald OG X Granddaddy Purple
Heritage like that, I was in for a treat. This strain is an indica-leaning hybrid which delivers effects on both ends of the spectrum.
Appearance
Under the flash, Chocolate Orange has the choc-look to it. Darker patches and glistening trichomes make this look glazed and also very complex.
The bud structure is nice, leaning towards the indica side, with a good density. The pistils aren't massive or very apparent, and the sample is dry. Good trim.
Aroma

In fact, the aroma seems to switch up twice - it smells different out the bag to when it has been broken apart, and different again once it has been ground.
Taste
Like most I review these days I had my two favourite consumption methods - the Mighty Vaporizer and the Chongz Widowmaker bong. I was looking to get an idea of both the flavour and the smoking experience of this cannabis strain.
Hitting chocolate orange through my bong I was treated to a lovely smooth exhale, one that does not lead to coughing. The flavour isn't tremendously apparent, but the experience of smoking it is enjoyable nonetheless, even through the intensity of a bowl.
In the Mighty the Choc Orange tastes produces some of the nicest-tasting vapor I had ever tasted - sweet and citrusy with hints of menthol coolness - incredibly moreish.
Effects
As mentioned above, this hybrid strain leads to effects on both ends of the spectrum, but I would say this feels more indica.
A familiar relaxation awaits, with the body feeling pleasant and muscles loosening. But alongside this is a clarity that makes this strain, in my opinion, a good daytime smoke.
I also noticed a light sensitivity after smoking this, as well as the beginnings of a dry mouth.
The speed with which the effects kick in lead me to believe that this is a potent strain in excess of 20% THC, as I find that lower potency strains tend to take longer to feel.
Conclusion
Chocolate Orange is an excellent example of modern-day genetics.
A good terp profile coupled with solid effects (and a well-grown sample) have come together, resulting in a lovely bit of weed.
