Background
When I researched Colorado Chem, the grower helped me pin down its genetics. This strain's genetics are actually: (Chemdawg 4 x Chem '91) X (Chem d x i95) X GG #4. Colorado Chem won 2nd place in the 2014 Denver Cannabis Cup (People's Choice category).
Appearance
The sample came in a "Gas Leak Extracts pack" made from plastic with a printed design featuring the Union Jack and Gas Leak branding.
I thought that this packaging was cool, looks a bit like something I imagine you might find in the US.
The bud itself looks very nice, with a better-than-average trim job and solid green colour, and glistening trichomes clearly visible.
The bud has an old school look and feel to it, also looking like Chemdawg, which isn't surprising as it makes up so much of the Colorado Chem genetics.
It also feels more resinous than average, and is very sticky when squeezed.
Aroma
The pungent gassy smell is strong, and comes out in full force as soon as the bag is open. I would like to live inside that bag, it smells so good.

Taste
The flavour of Colorado Chem can be experienced nicely through the bong. And I did so, being treated to a smooth smoking experience and nice flavour on the exhale.
After ten or so seconds I got a sinus-tingling feeling - the same feeling I get with strains like stardawg that are covered in trichomes and feel expansive in the lungs.
W here the flavour of the Colorado Chem really came into its own was when I vaped it. Using the Mighty at 180 degrees Celsius I got an almost literal representation of that oh-so-sweet aroma in the delicious cloudy vapour.
The strong pungent gas and pine notes were very apparent. Delicious and left me wanting more!
Effects
This is a hybrid strain, delivering a potent hit with the Mighty-Vaping/Bong-Smoking combination.
The high kicks in after just a few minutes, progressing into a lovely mix of a body-relaxing yet mind-lifting state that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Conclusion
This was grown well, and the genetics of Colorado Chem are strong. Both these factors led to a top quality sample.
It is hard to fault the Colorado Chem. This is one I'd smoke again and again.
