Sour Diesel Bx2

Interestingly, it took some handling to release the smell – I think I left this sample sitting around for slightly too long, because the smell went from 1 to 10 real quick as I broke the bud apart!

Archive descriptors

Record notes

Only descriptors supported by both the archive record and supplementary cultivar data are listed here.

Reported sensory and character descriptors vary by phenotype, batch and individual experience. They are not medical guidance.

Genetics and lineage

The recorded lineage includes (Sour Diesel X Bika Kush Mawl) X (SourDiesel X Bika Kush). Source disagreement should be treated as part of the cultivar's naming history rather than flattened into a false certainty.

Flavour

Reported flavour notes include diesel, pine, sour, spicy and woody.

Reported character

Reported effects include body, euphoric, amused, relaxed, sociable and uplifted. Individual experiences vary.

Background

This is a great example of a classic strain reimagined, and if you have ever smoked Sour Diesel you'll have a good idea of what to expect...

Karma Genetics created this cultivar by crossing the original Sour Diesel with its Biker Kush male, then backcrossing it with Sour Diesel.

Appearance

This Sour Diesel has a wonderfully complex appearance, with copper and gold pistils and a darker green colour.

The trichomes are clearly visible but this carries an old school look, perhaps picking up more indica traits from the Biker Kush.

The sample is dense and hard to the touch and overall has a solid look, with densely stacked calyces.

Aroma

Wow this one smells delicious! Moreish and incredibly true to the name - Sour Diesel has the familiar jet fuel stench of the biker kush male.

It also smells incredibly pungent once the bud has been ground, delivering moreish gassy notes that reek like kush and diesel (petrol).

Interestingly, it took some handling to release the smell – I think I left this sample sitting around for slightly too long, because the smell went from 1 to 10 real quick as I broke the bud apart!

Taste

I consumed Karma Genetics' Sour Diesel Bx2 in my bong and my Mighty Vaporizer. The smoking experience of this one is both smooth and carries the flavour, but vaping provides truly staggering levels of pungency.

The first hit from my vape was almost too much (not really, but look at my expression in the GIF above), with those pine and gassy terps hitting so strong they were making my mouth and eyes water.

Effects

As strong as she is tasty, Sour Diesel Bx2 kicks in after just a few minutes. I smoked two bowls and enjoyed a vape chamber in that time, so by the time it started kicking in I knew I was in for a nice ride.

The high was sativa leaning to start, lifting me up and making me feel chatty and confident. However, after 10-15 minutes I felt a new wave as the indica side of the effects kicked in and I wanted to sit down again.

Conclusion

I really like what Karma Genetics has done to the classic Sour Diesel with the Sour Diesel Bx2. This strain delivers strongly in all areas, and I would happily smoke this daily.

Uncertainty and variation

Cultivar characteristics vary between growers, batches and phenotypes. The archive records a specific reviewed sample — it is not a current product specification.
